River House

River House is a residential community for students who want to go deeper—living, learning, and leading together while engaging the university with love and curiosity.

River House is a Christian household for students in the Anselm House Fellows Program. It’s not just a place to live; it’s a community that practices serving each other and the university—finding daily, sustainable practices––including meals, prayer, and rest––that order our studies, friendships, and vocations towards God and the good of the University.

Join us as we practice leading in Christian community, character, and hospitality!

In addition to regular participation in the Fellows Program, life at River House includes these regular practices and commitments:

1. A weekly meal and discussion as a household.
2. Weekly household prayer.
3. Weekly household chores.
4. Monthly connection with a mentor in the Anselm House community.
5. Semesterly household retreats in fall (early September) and spring (late January).
6. Regular participation and membership in a local church body.
7. Regular personal practices of prayer, stewardship, and care for the community (as described in our household covenant).

River House is open to current Colin MacLaurin Fellows who are enrolled at the University of Minnesota in an undergraduate, graduate, or professional program. We welcome the diversity that different seasons of "studenthood" bring to our shared household.
